We stock and install BFT-compatible welded and fabricated gate components in Henderson, with most repair work running between $240 and $680 installed depending on the part and the rig. Typical turnaround is same-day or next-day once we’ve seen the gate, and every job gets a written price before we touch a weld. The call usually starts the same way: a gate that drags, a hinge that’s torn loose, or a bracket that cracked clean through after years of Nevada sun and wind.

BFT operators are solid machines, but the metal they’re mounted to takes a beating out here. Henderson’s dry heat cycles bake powder coating until it chalks, and the desert wind turns a slightly loose bracket into a stress crack within a season. Most owners discover the failure when the gate starts catching mid-swing, or when the motor strains against a hinge that’s no longer square. That’s the failure pattern we see most, and it’s almost always fixable without replacing the operator itself.
Which BFT Models This Applies To
Most of the welding and fabrication work we do in Henderson involves the BFT Deimos, Phobos, and Rigel swing-arm lines, plus the BFT sliding-gate series where the rack mounts to the gate frame. The compatibility question that trips people up is mounting-plate spacing. BFT swing operators use specific bolt patterns that changed between series generations, and a bracket welded for an older Phobos won’t line up with a newer Deimos without re-drilling or cutting. We measure the plate before we weld anything.
Here’s what we tell Henderson owners about OEM versus aftermarket. BFT’s factory brackets and mounting hardware are well-made but priced for the Italian import market, and lead times can run two to three weeks when a distributor doesn’t have the part on the shelf. For most bracket, hinge, and gate-frame repairs, a properly fabricated local replacement using 11-gauge or 1/4-inch steel holds up just as well as OEM, and we can usually have it cut, welded, and installed the same afternoon. The exception is anything inside the operator housing itself. That we replace with OEM parts, period.
We also stock and service parts for LiftMaster, Mighty Mule, and Ghost Controls systems, but BFT is one of the nine brands our technicians train on as a matter of course.

Signs Your BFT Welding & Fabrication Is Failing
- The gate sags at the hinge side. This means the hinge welds or the post base have started to fail. The gate still works, but every cycle is bending metal that should be static, and it’ll only get worse. You’ll hear the BFT motor working harder than it should on each open.
- A bracket crack you can see without removing anything. Powder coat doesn’t hide a stress crack for long. A visible line at a bracket corner means the metal has already failed under load, even if the two pieces haven’t separated yet.
- The operator pulls away from the post when it starts. If the BFT unit rocks or lifts at the mounting plate when the arm engages, the anchor bolts are loose or the plate is flexing. Every cycle loosens it further, and eventually the arm loses its throw geometry and the limit switch settings stop matching reality.
- The gate opens partway, reverses, or faults out. Sometimes that’s a board or a limit switch issue, but often the root cause is a warped or broken weld changing the arc of the gate. The BFT control board senses the resistance and calls it an obstruction. You can reset the operator all day and it won’t fix bent steel.
- A dragging or scraping sound in one spot of the travel. That’s a hinge or a wheel mount that’s shifted out of plane. The gate physically contacts the ground or the track at that one spot. Left alone, it grinds a flat spot into the wheel or wears through the gate’s bottom rail.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
In Henderson, welded bracket and hinge repair on a BFT gate typically runs $240 to $420 including the fabricated part, removal of the old bracket, welding, grinding, and a fresh coat of rust-inhibiting paint. A full gate-frame repair where racking or a bent section needs to be cut out and re-fabricated lands between $450 and $680. If the gate post itself has rotted at the base, which happens faster in irrigated landscaping than people expect, post replacement adds $300 to $600 depending on whether we’re setting a new post in concrete or sleeving the existing one.

The price you’re quoted is the price you pay. We write it down before any cutting or welding starts, and it covers the part, the labor, and cleanup. Every repair carries a written one-year guarantee. If the same weld or bracket fails inside that year, we come back and fix it at no charge. That’s part of The Garrison Standard we’ve operated under since 2008, not an add-on.
DIY or Call Us?
There are things you can safely check. Look for visible cracks at bracket corners. Push on the gate at the hinge and latch sides to feel for movement that shouldn’t be there. Listen for the scrape or the strain. Those diagnoses cost you nothing and tell us a lot on the phone. What you should not do is fire up a welder on a gate that’s connected to a live BFT operator unless you know how to isolate the power and release the operator’s manual override first. A gate under tension from a spring or an operator that engages mid-repair is how people lose fingers. We weld with the power locked out and the gate blocked, every time.
Most owners in Henderson call us because the diagnosis is the hard part, not the weld. Lonnie Burke has spent years telling people what’s actually wrong with their gate before anyone cuts metal. If you want a straight answer before you spend a dollar, call (775) 307-6571 and describe what the gate’s doing. The estimate is free.
FAQs
Factory BFT hinges and brackets typically last 8 to 12 years in Henderson before UV degradation, wind loading, and metal fatigue catch up with them. Gates near open desert or on higher-elevation lots in the Anthem area tend to fail at the earlier end of that range because the thermal swings are wider. Gates with regular maintenance and proper operator limit settings last at the longer end.
If the crack is a single clean line at a weld seam and the surrounding metal is sound, we can often grind it out and re-weld it in place for less than a full bracket replacement. If the crack has branched, or the metal around it is thin with rust, we fabricate a new bracket instead. Welding over fatigued steel just moves the failure point a few inches down the line. Call (775) 307-6571 and we’ll tell you which situation you have.
Most bracket and hinge welds are done in two to four hours on site, including power lockout, grinding, welding, cooling, painting, and a full cycle test of the operator. A gate-frame repair that requires cutting out a section and fabricating a replacement piece usually takes four to six hours. We schedule Henderson jobs with enough time to finish properly, not to squeeze in three more stops after yours.
We stock raw steel in the common gauges used for gate fabrication, plus hinge stock and a range of BFT mounting hardware on our trucks. That means most bracket and hinge repairs don’t need a second visit. If your gate needs something unusual, we have it cut and fabricated locally in Henderson, usually inside a day or two. Carver Gate Repair Henderson is an independent service provider and not affiliated with BFT, but we work on their equipment regularly and know what their operators need to run right.
