If your Viking gate has a cracked weld, a snapped hinge, or a frame that’s pulled out of square, we stock and install Viking-compatible welding and fabrication parts across Henderson, and most jobs run between $220 and $650 installed. We carry the common Viking hinge assemblies, frame brackets, and weld-in reinforcement plates on our trucks, so a same-day repair is usually possible when you call before noon. The way owners usually find us is simple: the gate starts dragging on the driveway, the post leans a little more each week, or a weld pops with a sound like a rifle shot and the gate swings wrong from that moment on. By the time the gate moves at all, the damage is already past the tightening-and-adjusting stage.

Which Viking Models This Applies To
Most of the Viking gates we weld and fabricate for in Henderson fall into three groups: the Viking R-6 and R-7 swing gate lines, the Viking S-220 and S-330 slide gate series, and the older Viking G-5 residential models that are still all over the Anthem and Green Valley neighborhoods. The trick with Viking parts is that hinge spacing changed between the G-5 and the R-series, so a hinge set that looks identical on a web listing will sit about 3/8 inch off on the bolt pattern. We measure the center-to-center distance on the hinge before we order or cut anything, because guessing on a Viking gate means a second trip and a second set of holes in the frame. On the fabrication side, we match the original steel gauge rather than just patching with whatever’s on the rack, because a thin patch on a heavy gate just moves the failure point down the tube. OEM Viking hinges are still made for the R-series, but for the older G-5 models the aftermarket equivalents from American-made suppliers are often a better fit and roughly 30 percent less than OEM pricing. We’ll tell you which one makes sense for your gate, not just whichever is easier for us to source.

Signs Your Viking Welding & Fabrication Is Failing
- The gate sags at the latch end by half an inch or more. That sag means the top hinge weld has stretched or cracked at the frame, and the weight of the gate is now riding on the bottom hinge alone. It only gets worse from here, and every cycle puts more load on the opener.
- You hear a grinding or popping from the hinge area when the gate moves. Pop means a broken weld moving under load. Grinding means the hinge pin has worn its bushing out and the steel is running on steel. Both are fixable without replacing the whole gate if we catch them early.
- The gate slams or bangs when it closes. A broken weld on the stop or the frame lets the gate travel farther than it should before it meets metal. That shock load is what cracks frames and knocks limit switches out of adjustment.
- Rust streaks run down from the welds or the hinge barrels. In Henderson’s dry heat, rust at a weld usually means the weld was never sealed or painted properly from the factory or a previous repair. That rust is migrating inside the tube where you can’t see it.
- The opener runs but the gate barely moves, or trips the obstruction sensor constantly. When a gate frame twists out of square from a failed weld, the opener is fighting the frame, not just the weight. Left alone, that burns out the gearbox on the operator, which turns a few-hundred-dollar weld job into a motor replacement.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
In Henderson, here’s what Viking welding and fabrication work typically runs:
| Job Type | Typical Installed Range |
|---|---|
| Single hinge replacement (weld-in) | $90 – $160 |
| Full hinge set on a Viking swing gate (2 hinges, labor included) | $220 – $380 |
| Cracked weld repair on frame or post | $120 – $250 per location |
| Frame straightening and reinforcement plate | $200 – $450 |
| Full fabrication of a replacement gate frame section | $350 – $650 |
The range depends on steel thickness, how much of the old weld has to be ground out before we can lay a clean bead, and whether the gate has to come off its mounts to be worked on properly. Some gates we can weld in place; some we pull and do on sawhorses, and that labor is part of the number. Every quote is written down before we strike an arc, and the price you see is the price you pay. The repair carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing. If that weld fails inside a year, we’re back out at no charge.
DIY or Call Us?
Welding a gate frame is not a weekend project for a homeowner with a borrowed MIG welder. I say that as someone who went through the welding program at Cerritos College and has spent years doing this work in Henderson, including plenty of repairs on Viking gates out north toward the Raiders’ practice corridor. The safety concern is real: gate frames are under load, and a weld that fails while someone’s opening the gate by hand can drop several hundred pounds of steel on a person. That’s not a scare tactic, it’s just what the physics are. Now, what you can do safely is inspect. Look at every weld on the hinges, the stops, and where the frame rails meet. Take photos of any crack, measure the sag at the latch end, and note whether the gate binds in one spot or the whole travel. Then call us at (775) 307-6571 and tell me what the gate is doing wrong. As I like to say around the shop: tell me what it’s doing wrong, and I’ll tell you what it needs. Usually those are two different things.
FAQs
A properly welded and sealed hinge on a Viking gate will last 10 to 15 years in Henderson’s climate, though the original factory welds on some G-5 models fail sooner because the weld was never cleaned and painted at the factory. The heat is less of an issue than the UV exposure on the paint over the weld, which lets moisture sit and start corrosion.
Yes, in most cases a cracked weld can be ground out and rewelded without replacing the hinge or the frame section, and we’ll only recommend replacement if the steel itself has thinned or torn beyond what a sound weld can hold. If the part has failed twice in the same spot, that’s when we suggest a reinforcement plate rather than another patch in the same location.
Most single-hinge or cracked-weld repairs take 90 minutes to two hours on site, including grinding, welding, cleanup, and letting the repair cool before we cycle the gate. Full frame straightening or fabrication work usually runs half a day.
We carry common Viking hinge sets, frame brackets, steel plate and tube stock, and the consumables to weld on site, so a lot of Henderson jobs are done in one visit. If your Viking model takes a hinge we don’t have in the bin, we order it for next-day pickup and schedule the visit to match. Call (775) 307-6571 and describe the gate, and we’ll tell you the exact part and the installed price before you commit to anything.
If your Viking gate is welded wrong, patched thin, or pulling apart at the frame, call Carver Gate Repair Henderson at (775) 307-6571. We stock Viking-compatible hinges and fabrication stock, we give you a written price before any work begins, and the weld carries our full-year guarantee in writing. That applies whether it’s a Viking, a LiftMaster, a Mighty Mule, or one of the many Ghost Controls openers we service across town.
