If your Elite access control system has a failed keypad, card reader, or controller board, Carver Gate Repair Henderson stocks Elite-compatible parts and typically installs them for $450 to $1,400 depending on the component and whether a full panel replacement is required. We carry Elite keypads, telephone entry boards, and receiver modules on our trucks, and most Henderson jobs are completed same-day once we confirm the part matches your system.

Most homeowners discover the failure the hard way. A keypad works fine for years, then one morning the gate stays locked and the keypad won’t respond, or the remote suddenly stops opening the gate while the keypad still works. That usually means a specific board or receiver failed, not the whole system. Lonnie Burke has pulled apart enough Elite controllers to know that the problem is rarely the motor. It’s almost always a worn relay, a fried power supply, or a keypad membrane that sun-baked in the Nevada heat.
One thing up front: Carver Gate Repair Henderson is an independent gate repair company. We are not affiliated with Elite, but we work on their equipment daily and keep their most common access control parts in local stock.
Which Elite Models This Applies To
Elite access control components cross multiple model lines, and compatibility is where Henderson owners get burned by guesswork. The Elite SL-3000 and SL-3000UL slide gate operators use a different controller interface than the older CSW200 series swing operators. A keypad wired for a CSW200 will not simply plug into an SL-3000 without matching the wiring protocol first.
Here’s what actually matters when identifying your part. Look at the controller board inside the operator housing. There’s a label, usually white with black lettering, that lists the board revision number. Elite boards are marked with numbers like AC-1200, AC-1300, or similar. Take a photo of that label before you call anyone. It saves a trip and tells us exactly which access control components are compatible.
For OEM versus aftermarket: Elite OEM keypads and receiver boards are solid but priced at a premium. For most Henderson installations, we recommend OEM for the controller board itself, because aftermarket boards occasionally ship with incompatible firmware revisions. For keypads and basic remote receivers, quality aftermarket equivalents work reliably and cost 20 to 30 percent less. We’ll tell you which is which before you pay for either.

Signs Your Elite Access Control Installation Is Failing
- Keypad lights up but won’t trigger the gate. The keypad membrane is getting power, but the relay that sends the open signal is worn out. This is the single most common Elite access control failure we see in Henderson, and it means the keypad itself is done.
- Gate opens intermittently from the same remote. If one remote works and another doesn’t, it’s a battery. If all remotes work only sometimes, the receiver board inside the operator is failing. In Henderson’s summer heat, receiver boards cook faster than they would in cooler climates.
- Telephone entry system dials but no audio. The phone line or cellular module connects, but the audio relay on the access control board has failed. Visitors can’t hear you, and you can’t hear them, even though the gate still opens.
- Gate opens on its own at random times. This is a failing loop detector or a short in the access control wiring, not a ghost. Either way, it’s a safety issue we treat as urgent, because an uncommanded gate movement can damage a vehicle or hurt someone standing in the path.
- Access control resets to factory defaults after a power outage. The backup battery on the controller board is dead. Once that battery goes, every outage wipes your codes and entry settings, which means reprogramming everything until the board is replaced.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
Here’s what Elite access control installation costs in Henderson, installed by Carver Gate Repair:
- Replacement keypad: $450 to $750 installed, depending on whether it’s a basic digital keypad or a backlit, weather-sealed unit.
- Remote receiver board: $350 to $600 installed, including reprogramming existing remotes.
- Telephone entry board replacement: $600 to $950 installed.
- Full controller board swap: $800 to $1,400 installed, which includes reprogramming all entry codes and confirming loop detector integration.
The range exists for a reason. Older Elite units sometimes require a retrofit harness because the new board has a different connector layout. Newer units are usually plug-and-play. Either way, you get the written price before we touch anything, and that price includes the part, labor, reprogramming, and cleanup. Every repair carries our written guarantee good for a full year. If the access control fails inside that year, we return and fix it at no charge.
DIY or Call Us?
If the keypad has power and the gate opens from a remote, you can safely check a few things. Verify the keypad is getting power. Check if the code was accidentally changed. Test whether the problem happens with every code or just one. Those three checks take five minutes and rule out user error.
What you should not do is open the operator housing and start probing the controller board. Elite access control boards carry live voltage even when the gate is idle, and the capacitor on the board stores enough charge to give you a hard shock long after power is cut. Board-level access control work is not a homeowner job. If the keypad has power and won’t open, or the receiver is intermittent, call us at (775) 307-6571. We’ll diagnose it on-site, quote the fix in writing, and usually have the part on the truck.
FAQs
Most Elite controller boards last 7 to 12 years in Henderson’s climate, but heat accelerates failure. Boards mounted in direct sun inside unvented operator housings can fail in as little as 5 years, which is why we check ventilation on every access control service call. Call (775) 307-6571 and we’ll tell you honestly whether your board is worth repairing or should be replaced.
Sometimes, but not often. A failed relay can occasionally be re-soldered, and a dead backup battery is a cheap fix. But once a board shows burn marks, swollen capacitors, or corrosion from moisture intrusion, repairing it costs nearly as much as replacing it and won’t last. We’ll show you the board and explain what we’re seeing before recommending either path.
Most Elite keypad and receiver swaps take 60 to 90 minutes on-site. A full controller board replacement with reprogramming runs 2 to 3 hours. We arrive with the part matched to your board revision, so there’s rarely a second trip.
Yes. We keep Elite keypads, receiver boards, and common controller boards stocked locally in Henderson, along with LiftMaster, Mighty Mule, and Ghost Controls parts. If your Elite board revision is uncommon, we order it and schedule installation as soon as it lands, usually within two business days. Call (775) 307-6571 and we’ll check stock while you’re on the phone.
If your Elite access control stopped working, call Carver Gate Repair Henderson at (775) 307-6571. A live person answers, we schedule around your availability, and you’ll get a written price before any work begins. Lonnie Burke and his crew have been keeping Henderson gates opening since we brought the Garrison Standard to this market, and we don’t replace parts that don’t need replacing. Tell us what it’s doing wrong, and we’ll tell you what it needs. Usually those are two different things.
