We stock and install FAAC-compatible keypads and intercom modules across Henderson, and most repairs run $285 to $640 fully installed, including the part and labor. Same-day service is available for keypad failures, and we carry the common FAAC replacement boards on the truck. What usually brings owners to this page is a keypad that stopped lighting up, buttons that work intermittently, or an intercom where the voice comes through but the gate release button does nothing. Any one of those tells you the component has failed or is close to it, and in Henderson’s summer heat, that failure point is usually not the keypad face itself but the circuit board behind it.

Which FAAC Models This Applies To
This repair guidance applies to the FAAC 400, 415, 412, 390, and S418 operator lines, as well as the common keypad and intercom accessories wired into them: the FAAC 395 keypad, the FAAC Keypad/Metal and FLX units, and the FAAC module-based intercoms paired with telephone entry systems. If you can read the model label on the inside of the keypad housing or on the operator cover, that’s the fastest path to the right match. One compatibility gotcha with FAAC: the older 395 and 412 keypads use a 3-wire connection with a specific resistor value, while newer FAAC keypads are 4-wire with a different communication protocol. Mixing the generations will not work, and in some cases it can damage the operator’s control board. For FAAC specifically, we recommend OEM replacement boards when available because FAAC’s keypad protocol is less forgiving of aftermarket substitutions than LiftMaster or Mighty Mule; the aftermarket enclosures can be fine, but the circuit board should be FAAC or a proven FAAC-rated equivalent.

Signs Your FAAC Keypad & Intercom Repair Is Failing
- Keypad lights up but won’t release the gate. The most common cause is a failed relay on the keypad’s internal board, or a broken wire where the keypad cable enters the operator housing. The keypad itself may be fine; the release signal is not reaching the operator.
- Buttons work sometimes, then stop. In Henderson, this is frequently a cracked solder joint on the keypad board that expands and contracts with the heat. It will work in the morning, fail by 2 p.m., then work again after sunset.
- Intercom voice is clear but the gate release button does not work. The audio path and the relay circuit are separate. A working voice does not mean the relay is intact, and that relay is typically the first component to fail on FAAC telephone entry modules.
- Keypad is dead, no lights, no beep. Assuming the operator still has power, this is usually a dead keypad board or a severed low-voltage wire, often from weed trimmers or landscaping work near the pedestal.
- Codes have to be entered twice or three times. This indicates worn keypad contacts or corrosion on the ribbon connector behind the keypad face. It is cheaper to replace the keypad than to keep fighting it.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
In Henderson, a complete FAAC-compatible keypad replacement runs $285 to $420 installed for a standard single-gang keypad. Intercom module replacement with telephone entry runs $420 to $640 installed, depending on whether we are swapping the module only or the module plus the handset or speaker. The range is driven by three things: which FAAC series you have, whether the keypad wiring needs to be re-run, and whether the replacement is keypad-only or keypad plus intercom board.
What’s included in our price: the new part, removal of the failed unit, wiring check, programming of all access codes, and a written price agreed before any work starts. Every repair carries our full-year warranty in writing. If it fails inside that window, the second visit is free. No surprise line items, no “while we’re here” additions.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check three things on your own: confirm the operator has power, tighten the keypad’s mounting screws, and verify the wire connections at the keypad are not visibly broken. Past that, we recommend you stop. FAAC keypads and intercoms operate on low voltage, so the shock risk is minimal, but the damage risk is real: a mis-wired relay or wrong resistor value can fry the control board on a FAAC operator, and that is a $400 to $900 repair instead of a $300 keypad swap. If you are not certain which generation of FAAC keypad you have, do not guess. Call (775) 307-6571 and we will match it from the model label before we leave the shop, so the truck arrives with the right part.
FAQs
In Henderson’s climate, a FAAC keypad averages 5 to 8 years before the board or contacts start failing; direct sun on a west-facing pedestal shortens that. Intercom modules last about 7 to 10 years, with the relay being the first component to go. If your unit is past that age and acting up, replacement usually costs less in the long run than repeated repairs. Call (775) 307-6571 for a quote on your specific model.

Sometimes the board can be re-soldered or the contacts cleaned, but on FAAC equipment we find that a board-level repair rarely holds past a year in the Henderson heat. We will tell you if a repair is worth doing. If not, we will say so, and the replacement price is agreed before any work begins. Call (775) 307-6571 and tell us the symptoms.
A standard keypad replacement takes 45 to 90 minutes including programming. An intercom module with telephone entry runs 1.5 to 2.5 hours if the wiring is intact. If we have to re-pull wire from the operator to the keypad, add another hour.
We stock the common FAAC keypad and intercom replacement boards on the truck for the 412, 395, and S418 lines, plus compatible enclosures. For less common FAAC intercom modules, we source them same-week through our parts network. Call (775) 307-6571 with your model number and we’ll confirm what’s in stock before we schedule the visit.
Carver Gate Repair Henderson is an independent service provider and is not affiliated with FAAC. We match the right FAAC-compatible part to your existing system, and we also stock parts for LiftMaster, Mighty Mule, and Ghost Controls operators.
