We stock and install Ghost Controls-compatible welded brackets, gate frame reinforcements, and fabricated mounting hardware in Henderson, with most jobs priced between $220 and $540 installed. We carry common Ghost Controls fabrication parts on the truck, so same-day repair is realistic for most failures we see. The typical call starts with a gate that’s sagging, a mount that’s cracked, or a post bracket that sheared clean off its welds.

Most Henderson owners discover this problem the hard way: the gate starts dragging on the driveway, or the opener strains against a frame that’s twisted out of square. The part itself is rarely the motor. It’s the steel around it. And that’s where fabrication work matters more than parts swapping.
Which Ghost Controls Models This Applies To
Ghost Controls runs two main lines: the residential swing-arm kits (AXDP, RXXX series) and the heavier dual-gate systems built around the 502 and 702 control boards. The welded parts we fabricate for these systems break down into three categories: post brackets, gate frame tabs, and the articulating arm anchor plates that bolt to the gate itself.
Here’s the compatibility gotcha Henderson owners need to know: Ghost Controls post brackets are sized for a specific post face width, and the bolt pattern is not universal across their line. The AXDP-series arm wants a 4-bolt bracket with a 3.5-inch bolt circle. The heavier 502-series units use a wider 5-bolt pattern. If someone welds a bracket with the wrong pattern, the opener arm sits at a slight angle and chews through the pivot bushing inside six months. We measure the bolt circle before we ever strike an arc.
For OEM versus aftermarket: the original Ghost Controls brackets are powder-coated mild steel, perfectly adequate for most gates. But in Henderson’s summer heat, that powder coat gets brittle after a few seasons of direct sun. When we fabricate replacements, we use 14-gauge steel as the minimum, hot-dip galvanized when the gate sits near irrigation spray or pool splash. That costs a little more than a factory bracket, but it’s the difference between replacing the part once and replacing it again in three years. Aftermarket equivalents exist, and some are fine. The ones stamped from 18-gauge sheet are not. We won’t install them.

Signs Your Ghost Controls Welding & Fabrication Is Failing
- The gate sags toward the latch side when it’s fully open. This usually means the lower hinge weld or the bottom frame rail has fatigued. The opener keeps working, but it’s fighting extra drag every cycle, which shortens motor life.
- You hear a popping or grinding sound at the mount point when the gate moves. A cracked weld flexes under load, and that flex makes noise long before the bracket actually breaks. Catching it at this stage keeps the repair to a re-weld rather than a full bracket replacement.
- The opener arm pulls away from the gate face. The anchor plate bolts have either wallowed out their holes or the plate itself has bent. Either way, the arm is pulling at an angle, and the internal gears are wearing unevenly.
- The gate frame shows rust streaks running down from a weld joint. That rust means the weld has opened a hairline crack. Water gets in, rust expands the crack, and the cycle repeats until the joint lets go. Henderson’s dry climate slows this, but irrigation overspray accelerates it.
- The post bracket is still bolted on but the post itself is leaning. This one’s not always the bracket’s fault. The post may have shifted in the footing, or the footing wasn’t set deep enough. We check the post while we’re at it, because a new bracket on a moving post buys you about a month.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
In Henderson, a fabricated Ghost Controls bracket replacement runs $220 to $340 for a single post bracket or gate tab, including the steel, the fab work, the welding, and the install. A full mount rebuild with new anchor plate, reinforced gate frame section, and both post brackets lands between $400 and $540. If we’re fabricating a custom bracket for an odd post size or a stone column, we quote that in writing after we measure.
Every price is written down and agreed to before we start. No surprises when the welder fires up. Parts and labor are separate line items, so you see exactly what the steel costs and what the work costs. And the whole job, fabrication included, is covered by our full-year written guarantee. If that weld fails inside a year, we come back and fix it at no charge. That’s the standard we’ve worked under since 2008, and it applies to every Ghost Controls repair we do in Henderson.

DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check a few things yourself: look at the bracket welds with a flashlight, watch for rust streaks, and see if the gate wiggles at the hinge or the opener mount when you push on it by hand. That’s informed observation, and it helps you describe the problem when you call.
The welding itself is another matter. A gate bracket takes a lot of cyclical load, and a cold or shallow weld looks fine for a few weeks, then snaps with no warning while the gate is mid-swing. That’s a 300-pound gate moving under motor power. If it comes loose, it can hurt someone. This is not a weekend MIG project if you haven’t done structural work before. The electrodes, the amperage, the prep of the base metal, the sequence of the welds to avoid warping the gate frame – all of it matters. We’d rather you call and let a trained welder do it right the first time. Lonnie Burke and the crew handle this work daily, and we’ll give you a written price before anything gets hot. Call (775) 307-6571 and tell us what the gate is doing.
FAQs
A properly welded, properly prepped 14-gauge or galvanized bracket typically outlives the opener it’s mounted to, with 10 to 15 years of service life in Henderson’s climate. The factory powder-coated originals usually make it 5 to 8 years before the coating fails and the base metal starts to fatigue. The biggest variable is irrigation overspray; water near the welds shortens any steel part’s life, so we favor galvanized stock for gates near lawn zones.
Some can. If the crack is a clean, single fracture in a low-stress area of the bracket, we grind it out, re-weld it, and it’s good. If the bracket is cracked in multiple places, bent, or the bolt holes have wallowed out, we fabricate a replacement. Repairing fatigue cracks in a bracket that’s already deformed just moves the failure point somewhere else. We’ll tell you which one you have when we look at it, and the price reflects what we actually find, not what’s convenient to sell.
Most single-bracket fabrications and installs run 60 to 90 minutes on site, including time to position the gate, weld, cool, and test the opener cycle. A full mount rebuild with frame reinforcement is more like 2 to 3 hours. We arrive with the steel and the patterns so we’re not measuring, leaving to cut, and coming back. The gate is back in service the same visit in most cases.
We stock raw steel stock in common Ghost Controls dimensions, plus prefabricated brackets for the AXDP and 502-series bolt patterns, on every truck that runs Henderson. That means most bracket and anchor plate jobs are same-day. For less common posts, like oversized stone columns or powder-coated steel gates needing a custom match, we fabricate off a template and return within two business days. We also keep parts on hand for LiftMaster, Mighty Mule, and DoorKing systems, so mixed-brand properties don’t need two service calls.
If your Ghost Controls gate is sagging, grinding, or pulling loose at the mount, call (775) 307-6571 and describe what it’s doing. Tell me what it’s doing wrong, and I’ll tell you what it needs – usually those are two different things. We’ll give you a straight answer and a written price before any work starts.
