If you own a Linear gate system in Henderson and the frame, hinge mount, or operator bracket has cracked, bent, or torn loose, we weld and fabricate Linear-compatible repairs. Most welding and fabrication jobs on Linear gates run $280 to $680 installed, depending on the amount of metal we’re cutting out and replacing. We keep stock steel, hinge stock, and gusset plate on the truck, and we can usually get a cracked weld or torn hinge mount addressed same day or next morning in Henderson.
The way owners usually find us: the gate starts dragging, the motor strains and trips its limit, and the gate eventually binds against the drive rail or the post. You open the cover or walk around the hinge side and see a crack through the weld or a hinge pulled off the frame. That’s a fabrication issue, not a motor issue, and it won’t fix itself by resetting the opener.
Which Linear Models This Applies To
This applies to any Linear swing or slide gate where the steel frame, hinge mounts, post brackets, or operator mounting plate have failed, regardless of which Linear board or arm sits on top. In Henderson, we see this most on heavier ornamental steel gates paired with Linear swing arms (the LS series operators and older APeX models) and on chain-driven slide gates that have been racking against a misaligned guide roller long enough to crack the frame at the drive rail.
Here’s the gotcha we run into constantly: the Linear controller and arm are fine, but the metal they’re bolted to is not. A lot of companies will sell you a new operator when the real fix is cutting out a rusted section of the bottom rail and welding in fresh 2″ square tube. We fabricate the gate back to true, then re-mount your existing Linear operator.
For OEM versus aftermarket: Linear doesn’t sell frame components. Anything welded onto the gate is custom fabrication. The OEM-versus-aftermarket decision only comes into play for things like replacement hinge lugs or post brackets, where we’ll use cast or machined steel components matched to the gate’s weight. We’re an independent service provider, not affiliated with Linear, and we’ll tell you straight when a salvaged piece of your original gate is worth keeping and when it’s scrap.

Signs Your Linear Welding & Fabrication Is Failing
- Gate drags and the operator trips the reversing sensor. A sagging frame or cracked bottom rail flexes under load, so the motor works harder and trips. The gate feels heavy when you push it manually. The weld at the hinge side has usually started to crack.
- You can see daylight through a crack in the steel. This one’s straightforward. A hairline crack at a weld, particularly at the hinge or where the operator bracket bolts on, will spread fast in Henderson because the dry heat bakes moisture out of the paint and the steel underneath begins to oxidize.
- The gate slams or overshoots when the operator stops. A torn operator mounting plate lets the arm flex and move even after the motor stops, so the gate drifts past its limit. Check the bolts and plate before blaming the limit switch.
- Hinges creak, and the gate leans toward the latch side. Worn or broken hinge lugs let the gate drop at the free end. The post side is still solid. The gate literally pivots on a failing weld.
- Rust flakes fall off near the ground and the bottom rail sounds hollow. In Henderson, we don’t fight much ocean salt, but irrigation overspray and Monsoon-season puddling rots the bottom rail from the inside. Poke a screwdriver at the base and listen. If it goes through, the bottom rail needs sectioned and replaced.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
Installed welding and fabrication on a Linear gate in Henderson runs $280 to $680 in most cases. A small crack repair at a hinge or bracket runs toward the low end. Replacing a bottom rail section, re-truing a sagging gate frame, or cutting out and rebuilding a torn operator mount runs $450 and up. The range depends on how much steel we’re replacing, the wall thickness of the tube, and the access at the job site.
Every price is written and agreed before we strike the first arc. That’s The Garrison Standard, and it’s not something we bend on. The price covers cutting out the bad metal, fabricating the replacement section, welding, grinding, and priming and painting the repair to match. It also carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the weld or fabrication fails within a year, we come back and fix it, no charge and no argument. If the gate is heavy ornamental steel with a lot of scrollwork, we’ll talk through the extra time that work takes before we start, not after.
DIY or Call Us?
If you can hold a flashlight, you can check the hinges for cracks, look for rust at the base of the frame, and watch the operator bracket while someone cycles the gate from the keypad. Those checks are safe and will tell us a lot before we roll a truck.
What you shouldn’t do is weld on a gate that’s holding spring tension, or cut a bottom rail without supporting the gate frame. A gate under its own weight can rack, pinch, or spring when a weld is cut, and a hot weld on a greased hinge or near a Linear control board can cause damage that costs more than the original repair. Welding and high-tension gate work are two things we tell homeowners flat-out to leave to a trained professional. If the crack is growing, call (775) 307-6571 and we’ll get someone to your gate.
FAQs
How long should a welded repair on a Linear gate last in Henderson?
A properly fabricated and painted weld on a Linear gate frame should outlast the original in most cases, typically 10 to 15 years in Henderson’s dry climate. Irrigation overspray is the one thing that shortens that, so we grind the repair clean and hit it with primer and paint before we leave.
Can you fix the cracked frame, or do I need a new gate?
Most cracked frames can be repaired by cutting out the failed section and welding in new steel, rather than replacing the whole gate. We’ll tell you if the rest of the frame is too far gone, but in Henderson, we probably salvage four out of five gates we look at.
How long does welding and fabrication take on a Linear gate?
Most crack repairs and bracket rebuilds take two to three hours on site, including grinding and painting. Bottom rail sectioning or a full re-true on a heavy ornamental gate can run half a day, and we’ll tell you the expected time when we quote the job.
Do you stock the steel and hardware for Linear gate fabrication?
We carry 2″ square tube, angle iron, hinge lugs, gusset plate, and the common hardware on our trucks, so most repairs don’t wait on a supply house. For heavy wall tube or odd-sized ornamental profiles, we order and schedule the follow-up visit before you pay for the first one. Call (775) 307-6571 for a free estimate.
